Reproductive Autonomy

ANSIRH’s work in Reproductive Autonomy investigates women’s power to control matters regarding contraceptive use, pregnancy, abortion, and childbearing.  Our research is done in the U.S. and internationally and involves measurement development, social science research, and literature reviews. One ongoing study explores the role of gender-based power among adolescent relationships and how it influences contraceptive use.  ANSIRH faculty are active members of UCGHI’s Center of Expertise on Women’s Health and Empowerment
