In this movie about a summer romance before heading to college, Ayanna, a budding poet, meets musician Isaiah, and their intense romance leads to an unintended pregnancy. She goes to a clinic and views an ultrasound. After they have an argument and break up, Ayanna decides to have an abortion without telling Isaiah. At the clinic, she takes the first pill and the provider tells her that she'll take the second pill at home and likely experience some discomfort. Once the abortion starts at home, she is in a lot of pain and calls a friend to help her. She cries and writhes in discomfort, hoping that being in the bath will help. When her friend arrives, she asks why she didn't tell Isaiah. Her mom comes home, and both women comfort her. She seems to be in less physical pain.
Isaiah finds out about the abortion and confronts Ayanna about it, saying she was lying to him the whole time. He stops talking to her and she's devastated. After focusing on healing, at the end of the film, Ayanna leaves for college.
