After suffering a brutal rape, Patty discovers that she's pregnant. A narrator appears to tell the audience facts about abortion legality and safety, making an argument for legalizing abortion. Meanwhile, a friend takes Patty to a local physician, who refuses to provide her abortion because it's illegal. She finds a doctor who is willing to do it, but it costs $600, which Patty cannot afford. Patty asks her friends for help coming up with the money after finding another abortion provider who will perform the abortion for $200. After being driven to a run-down massage parlor, an unlicensed pharmacist provides the abortion. Later, Patty comes down with a fever, and her friend takes her to the hospital, where Patty falls into a coma. Her doctor explains to her friend that in Sweden, abortion is safe and legal. Her doctor and a detective go to the massage parlor and rescue another woman before she has an illegal abortion. Patty dies and the narrator reappears to share statistics about how many women die from illegal abortions.
