Meant to Be

Meant to Be

A young man questions his purpose in life and decides to search for his birth mother, who relinquished him for adoption. His mother is a social worker who agonizes over the decision she made to give up Nathan 20 years ago. In an effort to diminish her sense of guilt at giving up her son, she is caught up in the life of a pregnant teenager, who is considering having an abortion. The movie ends with the revelation that Nathan isn't actually a person on earth, but a soul in a hotel for aborted fetuses, and the housekeeper is an angel there to help him learn to forgive his mother for having an abortion. The teenager that his mother is helping decides not to have an abortion.
