Jake Horner goes into a catatonic state after earning his graduate degree, and goes to a farm to rehabilitate himself. He becomes involved with the wife of the man who runs the farm, and after she becomes pregnant, they self-induce an abortion, which leads to her death. The abortion scene and other horror scenes in the film earned it an X rating.
