Abortion portrayal

Bitter Moon (film)

British couple Nigel and Fiona Dobson are on a Mediterranean cruise ship to Istanbul en route to India. They encounter a beautiful French woman, Mimi. Later Nigel meets her much older American husband Oscar, who is acerbic and cynical, having been jaded and a failure as a writer. Oscar invites Nigel to his cabin where he tells Nigel in great detail the history of their sadomasochistic relationship, including details of how he forced Mimi to have an abortion, saying he wouldn't be a good father. She alsomost died during the abortion procedure, which left her infertile. Nigel and Fiona both find themselves attracted to Mimi, but Oscar ends up killing both Mimi and himself in a jealous rage.
