The effect of abortion on having and achieving aspirational one-year plans

A new Turnaway Study analysis shows that women who received an abortion were more likely to have a positive outlook on the future and achieve aspirational life plans within one year than women denied an abortion. Women who had abortions had six times higher odds of expressing a positive life plan for the coming year than women who were denied abortion and carried the pregnancy to term. Positive life plans included goals related to education, employment, and living situation.
